Mikhail has extensive project management experience, having previously overseen projects for developers, the Canadian Department of National Defense and other major engineering companies. Mikhail has a background in both theoretical and applied science as well as business, having studied at the University of Western Ontario, University of British Columbia, and Trinity Western University. He brings large project management, finance, customer relations, and analytical experience. Mikhail has a great track record of work with developers, contractors, strata corporations and property managers. He resides in Tsawwassen with his wife and four children.
Alex specializes in building envelope enclosure and structural consulting. With more than 25 years of experience in the field of building science, Alex has a wide range of experience in civil engineering, mechanical engineering and geotechnical engineering. This experience includes building envelope design, structural design, both residential and commercial, construction quality assurance, feasibility studies, cost estimates, failure analysis, and environmental studies.
As the operations manager, Yang specializes in coordinating the various teams within the firm. Yang has worked in the real-estate industry for over six years and brings with him experience in management, team leadership, finance and project management. He has served on the board of the Real Estate Institute of Vancouver. He also has practical experience in research and development. Yang attended the University of British Columbia and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. He is fluent in English, French, and Mandarin.
As a Project Engineer, Matthew performs project management and building inspections to ensure compliance to building codes and safety standards. Matthew graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Civil Engineering. He has worked in the industrial construction sector as a project manager, as well as in the public sector in northern Canada.
With a decade of experience in Vancouver’s building science field, Kira brings a wealth of operations knowledge to Strata Engineering. In addition to day-to-day administrative and project administrative tasks, she is responsible for coordination, process management and documentation.
David’s extraordinary attention to detail and technical writing experience, combined with his background in the building science discipline and steel structural design, make him a valuable asset for any project he is involved in. His experience also includes field work, baseline property and building envelope condition assessments, leak investigations, preparation of specifications and building envelope remediation projects. David is fluent in English and Mandarin.
Diana is a strategic thinking, detail oriented Civil Engineer with years of experience in architectural, engineering and, construction environments with expertise in strategic visioning, project operations and infrastructures; organizational and professional development; project management; risk and quality management; project accounting practice and financial controls; construction technology, building codes and standards; construction contracts and contract administration.
Herman is a project associate in our Vancouver office with extensive experience inspecting residential and commercial buildings. He has completed and reviewed hundreds of depreciation reports, reserve fund studies, building condition assessments, and warranty reviews for a wide range of property types from high-rises to special purpose-built facilities. Herman obtained his Master of Engineering degree from BCIT in the field of Building Science and he also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from UBC. He is a registered Engineer-in-Training with the Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) and a member of the British Columbia Building Envelope Council (BCBEC), who has presented at conferences and been published by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
Nazar Pola holds a Master of Arts in Architecture from the Newschool of Architecture and Design and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Technology. Nazar is a member of the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC and the Canadian Home Builder’s Association of BC.
Nazar has more than 15 years of experience and has been involved in over 300 projects of architectural design, building condition assessments and energy auditing and evaluation, including design and management of mixed use projects, building inspections and Reserve Fund Studies (RFS) for existing and new residential buildings. Nazar’s architectural and building science experience extends to residential, institutional and commercial projects. Nazar has been involved in a variety of projects in Canada, USA, and the Middle East. Nazar is a certified energy adviser and green building consultant.
After leaving his original country (Iraq), Nazar lived in the United States and Greece before settling in Canada. Nazar enjoys sports, listening to music, and traveling.
